KWARTMA Clears Egbejila-Asa Dam Road Traf

The Kwara State Transport Management Authority (KWARTMA) on Tuesday stormed the Asa Dam – Egbejila junction road to clear all indiscriminately parked tricycles by the roadside that for years has been causing gridlock and making vehicular movements difficult along the axis.

During the exercise, the KWARTMA agents cleared the junction and provided alternative parking space for the tricycle operators.

The action of the KWARTMA agents is to santize the nuisance being constituted by the tricycle operators plying Asa-Dam to unity and Post Office.

Reacting to the development, a tricycle operator, named Abdulrahman Saka said: ” we are ready to comply with the directive because most of us got our tricycles on instalment and we can’t afford to getting our tricycles seized”

Also, a trader, identified as Emmanuel who sell snacks at the juncture appreciateed the transport agency for clearing the road. While speaking to National Pilot, he said, “We are grateful to the Kwara State Transport agency for clearing the road. Before now, we always witness series of accidents which has cost several lives in this particular junction but with this new development, we are confident that the rate of accident will be drastically reduced.”

Another trader who spoke under the condition of anonymity said: “I am personally happy with this. We can now do our legitimate business without fear of being hit by a vehicle. “
