Former Kwara Deputy Speaker, Tunji Ayeni Dies in a Motor Accident

A former Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Christopher Tunji Ayeni, has tragically passed away in a fatal road accident. The accident occurred early Thursday near Ajase-Ipo in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Ayeni, a prominent political figure and the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was reportedly traveling to Ilorin in a Hilux vehicle with an unidentified passenger when the tragic incident took place.

Recently, Ayeni had switched allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant shift in his political career. He was also the Akogun of Isapa Land in Ekiti Local Government Area, a title that underscored his influence and status within the community.

The news of Ayeni’s death has left Kwara State in mourning, as residents and fellow politicians express their condolences for the loss of a respected leader.
